Incense Man was not a extensively planned project but has definitely become a favorite of mine. What started as a pinch pot for fun quickly evolved into a practical incense tray for my own home. I have always loved peoples faces and the slight distortion of them for an uncanny valley feel so thats the direction I decided to go in for this piece. Once the base was shaped I added in the eyes, nose, and mouth. This project was painted with underglazes and then was dipped in a clear glaze for its shiny finish
