Skele-lamp. Wood, Acrylic. 2023.
The goal of this project was to make a lamp out of something I could laser cut. As per usual, I leaned into some human based design and decided I would make a ribcage. Originally I designed the whole shade to look like one seamless rectangular ribcage, rather than silhouettes of each profile, but ultimately decided it would lack a certain level of structural integrity that I wanted. Because I decided to go this route, I felt this cube of a lamp lacked details that would make it interesting. I decided to add tiny bones hanging from each edge and vertabrae scaling up the rope of the lamp.
